What is a birth plan?

A birth plan is a written document that outlines your preferences for labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care. It helps you communicate your wishes to your care team while also preparing for possible changes.

Why do I need a birth plan?

A birth plan gives you confidence and clarity. It ensures your voice is heard in the birth space and helps your partner, doula, and providers understand your values and goals. Even if things don’t go exactly as planned, it prepares you for options and backup scenarios.

Are your services available nationwide?

Yes! Because our birth plan tool is online, it can be used by families anywhere in the United States. All of our classes and other services are provided in a virtual format.

Can I update my birth plan later?

Yes! Pregnancy is a journey, and your preferences may evolve. You can update your plan anytime, then generate a new PDF.

Is my information secure?

Absolutely. We use secure, HIPAA-compliant systems to protect your data. Only you (and those you choose to share with) can access your plan.

Will insurance cover this service?

Insurance does not typically cover birth plans by themselves. However, many families use HSA/FSA accounts to pay for prenatal education services (including birth planning, childbirth classes, and breastfeeding support) with a Letter of Medical Necessity from their provider. We provide the paperwork you’ll need to try for reimbursement. Our childbirth and breastfeeding education classes may be reimbursable through some insurance plans, depending on your coverage.

Can I share my birth plan with my doctor or midwife?

Yes! You can email them the PDF, print a copy for your hospital bag, or share a secure link. Many clients also give a copy to their doula, partner, and postpartum support team.

What if I have a C-section?

We’ve included a section for C-section preferences. Even if you hope for a vaginal birth, it’s good to have a gentle cesarean plan ready — just in case.

How much does it cost?

Our birth plan builder is $15. Our childbirth and breastfeeding classes are available individually or bundled with the birth plan for extra savings. Please see our Services page for current pricing.
